Went to the Lion Dance performance this morning. Josephine, her hubby Paul and kids, David, Catriona and Megan joined us. It was really nice although the kids were more interested in the swimming pool than the Lion Dance and all ended up in there in their pants!!

Management of the complex had laid on a wee barbecue so we had lovely chicken and pork satay and drinks and then they gave everyone little gift bags with mandarins in them (CNY tradition). All in all a lovely way to spend the morning!

Afternoon not so good. James has been very grumpy as he's tired and Gabriel's knackered after his night oot. Didn't even make it to Tumble Tots as James was just too done in. Forced them all to watch Mamma Mia :o) and we're having a lazy afternoon.

Couple of photos of the Lion Dance attached (if I can figure out how to attach photos to this!)

  1. Evening Mrs S......Bad auntie Marion has now created another account and password (which I will probably forget!!!) to keep up with your antics from afar. Leone is right - it will make a fascinating read for the kids in years to come, particularly Kayla who may not remember much about it. One of my work colleagues blogged during their time in Malawa with VSO and it proved her hubby, a retired surgeon, had a hidden talent as a story teller. His blogs gave you a real feel for the people and culture of Malawi as well as the maybe not so great bits about living there. We awaited their weekly blog with great anticipation so I am expecting great things from you!!! (No pressure). Who knows...this could become a future bestseller. Anyway, off to do some really glamourous stuff on a Saturday morning....wash my kitchen floor - you know how that's my favourite task (LoL). Have a good weekend, speak soon in one of many ways to blether with you, love to all, Marion x

  2. Lovely to read of your experience of the Lion Dance - part of the CNY celebrations!!

Tell James that "the ladies" hope to see him soon with a smile on his face, not a grumpy face.

  3. Hi Leone & Marion - I've just noticed your comments on here! Leone - must try and arrange a wee lunch with the "ladies" the next time James has a day off school. Will let you know some dates.

Marion - as you can see I haven't even managed to update this since last week so I don't think I'll be quite up to your friend's standard!

Need to go as Kayla's trashing the DVDs!

    Bye for now xx
